NIGHT MUST FALL by Emlyn Williams
Written in 1935, this play is one of the earliest, if not the first example of a psychological thriller, that focuses not so much on ‘who done it’ but more about why! Set in England in a rural setting, the play explores the relationship between the murderer and other members of the household and manages to cleverly balance humour with gripping tension as the story moves to its climax. The play has been adapted for television and radio and has extensive seasons in London and New York at various times.
